Seidr - working with Vision, Power and Land

On this course in shamanism, we will explore one of the practises from ancestors living in this land, Seidr. We will explore the power of the main tools of the seiðr craft, the staff and the song, and we will practise seiðr together as a community ritual as well as in pairs and alone.

The mystical core of seiðr is inseparable from wild nature and a key part of our work will be connecting our practice with the power of the land, allowing our seidr to take root in our own landscape and time.

One of the greatest gifts the ancient seiðr tradition has to offer practitioners of today is a skillful way of dealing with power, expressed in the Norse term ergi, with hints of parallels to tantra. Seiðr can profoundly inspire our shamanic work, we become freer to choose the right ritual tool for the right task, and we deepen our experience of the power of earth.

To participate you must have clear contact with your spirithelpers and/or teachers and know how to journey. Seiðr work is for both men and women. You can read more in THE STAFF AND THE SONG.

The Sangye Menlha transmission is revered as one of the most powerful blessings for healing (Sangye Menlha is Tibetan for Medicine Tonpa or Medicine Buddha). In this seven-day retreat, Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche will present an introduction to the complex art of Tibetan Medicine and will give the Sangye Menlha empowerment.
Connection with Sangye Menlha through meditation, mantra recitation, and visualizations activates the practitioner’s innate healing abilities. It is a powerful healing practice for harmonizing imbalances as well as purifying negative karma and past deeds. It is not only an extremely potent practice for individuals, but can be offered to help others who are ill or for those who have already passed.
